Rapid technological and scientific advances are generating a growing pool of targets. This in turn, is creating a strong demand for techniques and tools for selection, process development, optimization, validation and production of biological agents. Instrumented bioreactors deliver excellent information, but low experimental throughput. Conventional parallel systems, such as spinner flasks, mean high experimental throughput but a lack of information output. DASGIP AG has developed products which bridge the gap by combining the advantages of both technologies.

The cellferm-pro® and fedbatch-pro® , which use cutting edge measurement and control technology, are the perfect tools for high information yield and production output with a variety of microrganisms. The growth conditions determined by means of a these systems are highly reproducible and transferable to large-scale production in fermenters and bioreactors. They are cost-effective and flexible systems, which takes up little space and can be customized to fit your individual needs.  These systems can include the following components:

Control System
The user-friendly Windows XP based configuration interface utilizes pH, pO2, temperature, agitation, gassing and dosing with user-defined profiles for each vessel. Easy to read logged data is generated via the DASGIP Chart Wizard.

Culture System
Many standard vessel designs and operating volumes are available as well as the option of utilizing the various modules with your existing bioreactor or fermenter system.

Gassing System (MX4/4)
Electronic mass flow control for each culture vessel. The MX4/4 allows individual gas blending, (O2, CO2, N2, Air), as well as a gas totalizer function for each culture vessel. O2 and C02 gas concentration are controlled by feedback from pO2 and pH sensors.

Dosing System (MP8)
Individual and continuous dosing of media, substrates or corrective reagents for each culture vessel utilizing miniature, variable speed, peristaltic pumps.

pH and pO2 Monitoring System
Continuous reading of pH and pO2 for each culture vessel. Simultaneous software-assisted calibration of all sensors.

Off-gas Monitoring System
Continuous monitoring of the Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide content in the off-gas stream of you fermenter or bioreactor.  Allows for online calculation of OUR, OTR, CER and RQ.

Temperature and Agitation System
Allows for individual control of agitation speed and temperature.  Feedback control can be used to effect cascade functions for pO2 regulation.
